Our Story

Rooted in and inspired by the ancestors of Greenwood, North Tulsa will be a vibrant community where children are thriving and residents have the power to make positive change!

Over the last seven years, The Met Cares Foundation has worked to eliminate disparities that exist across North Tulsa - and we've done it by working side by side with our community.

At Met Cares, we believe that North Tulsa should be a place where everyone can thrive. That's why we launched the PCAT Fellowship in 2018 to help train North Tulsans to become grassroots organizers. It's why we held dozens of house meetings, held six community town-halls, lead five research teams and hosted two summits to learn about what North Tulsans needed.

Over two years, we engaged more than 1200 residents, turning their ideas and hopes into a list of policy and program recommendations for leaders across our city to implement.

Those recommendations have driven our work ever since. They've lead to the launch of LevelUp Tulsa, the creation of The Art of Us program, the development of Growing Greenwood, the start of the North Tulsa Parent Alliance and more.

We are striving to ensure all North Tulsans have a seat at the table in determining what the future of our community will look like.

Join us - and let's get to work!
